Hi, I’m Marlen!
I’m a Musician & Creative Freelancer. Let’s create together!
Making music is doing what I love. When I was 8 years old, my mom got sick of me singing at home 24/7, so she took me to the choir of my hometown’s music school. There I really started to embrace my love for music. Today I work as a professional singer, and I also started releasing my own music as „Marli“. Stream my debut single „Surrender“ here.
I don’t only love to make music, being creative is my approach to the world. That’s why I thrive on working creatively in different areas. To be able to expand my passion into a profession, I studied Intermedia at the University of Cologne. During my studies, I took my first steps as a freelancer by working with different agencies and clients in the areas of public relations and digital marketing. Since November 2023 I also work as marketing manager for the agency DIE TONKÖPFE. As freelancer, my focus lies on social media management and copywriting. Nonetheless, I love a good challenge, and I am always interested in broadening my horizon.

MUSIC
Since 2018 I have been working together with my friend and musician Christian.
We perform as the duo Marlen & Chris.
While my part lies in enchanting our listeners with my voice, Christian takes over the instrumental part – acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano and a loop station are all part of his musical performance. We are based in Cologne, Germany and mostly get booked for events and weddings. Regularly, we have the honor to perform in locations like the holiday resort Robinson Club or the Romantik Hotel Klostergut Jakobsberg.
Our repertoire is based on cover songs, focusing on the genres Pop, RnB and Soul. We like to play the latest music, but also include older music from the 80s and 90s, which I am a big fan of.

CREATIVE
Creativity is my way to explore the world and express myself. That is why I love to live out my creativity in all kinds of forms. So it was a no-brainer that I would like to include it into my job.
My career as freelancer in the field of digital marketing began with my internship at the pr agency Rocchi PR in 2020. After my internship, the agency contacted me with the wish to continue working together to build up the social media appearance of a new client – a german musical. This resulted in my first job as freelancer. Since then, I have worked together with different clients, including the digital marketing agency Croud. My tasks are diverse and range from social media management to copywriting and design.
